What Are Half Cartridge Fittings?

Half cartridges are a three-component system that presses directly into molded cavities: 

1. Collet - Grips the tubing
2. Body ring - Presses into the cavity
3. O-ring - Seals against the tubing 

Together, they create a John Guest push-connect insertion point integrated into your equipment. 

Old Method vs. Half Cartridges

Traditional approach: Thread female threads into the cavity, then screw in a John Guest male adapter. 

Half cartridge approach: Machine or mold the cavity to spec, press in the body ring, insert the collet and O-ring, then push tubing directly into the connection. 

The result? Fewer components, fewer leak points, and a cleaner look. 

Installation & Applications 

1. Create cavity to exact half cartridge specifications 
2. Press the body ring into the cavity 
3. Insert the collet 
4. Place the O-ring inside 
5. Push tubing into the connection
